Malibu Rising

Taylor Jenkins Reid

Rating: 4 out of 5.

A book about family, Malibu Rising was a great historical fiction read that I’ve read in a while! This is my first read from TJR although I have the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo in my TBR and am hoping to read it next month or in August! I finished this book early last week and just didn’t find time to click a picture and post. It’s been a stressful time at work and I’m so glad to settle down in the evening with a good book.
I loved the different sections of the book and how each chapter was based on the hour of the day that the event took place. There’s often certain decisions we take for the happiness of our family. Family above all else – Nina Riva is a firm believer of this. She’ll give anything for her family, she’ll always be the first to sacrifice for a smile on their faces. The beautiful way that TJR has illustrated the family dynamics of four siblings, all unique by themselves but having one thing in common – the sibling bond. Yes these famous siblings fight too but there’s always the bond that triumphs in the end. Enough said, I simply adored this book and thought it was a great read!
I just made my first hello fresh meal – apricots, almonds and chickpeas tangerine with basmati rice and it turned out delicious! No wonder I thought it paired with the book well just as the four siblings, four main ingredients rock this recipe as well!
